DS5 Construction Ltd is a family-run construction company based in London. We deliver residential and commercial projects, including renovations, extensions, refurbishments and new builds.

Founded by Ivan Shushvar, the company is built on hands-on construction experience and a practical understanding of how projects are delivered on site. That background continues to shape the way we work today, with a strong focus on clear communication, careful organisation, attention to detail and reliability at every stage.

Our services include house renovations, house extensions, summer houses, structural works, full property refurbishments and new builds. We oversee projects from start to finish, working closely with architects, engineers, and other consultants to maintain clear coordination and on-time delivery.

Our team brings together practical experience, technical knowledge and a strong understanding of current materials, methods and regulations. We take a considered approach to each project, focusing on solutions that are appropriate to the property, the brief and the long-term performance of the finished space.

At DC5 Construction Ltd, we place strong emphasis on qualification, compliance and professional standards. We work with fully trained and qualified specialists, and we provide all relevant certification where required, including certification for electrical works, gas works and boiler installations.     Company Director

    Ivan is the founder of DS5 Construction Ltd and plays a central role in the day-to-day running of the company. His background in construction began in Ukraine, where he studied construction and developed practical experience from the ground up before continuing his career in London. Over the years, Ivan has worked across residential renovations, commercial refurbishments, structural works and high-spec fit-outs, building a strong understanding of UK construction methods, materials, regulations and site delivery. He remains closely involved in project oversight, quality control and technical execution, ensuring that every job is completed to a high standard.

  • Olena Shushvar

    Operations & Business Administration

    Olena is responsible for the operational and administrative side of DS5 Construction Ltd, supporting the smooth running of projects across the business. Her role includes administration, documentation, supplier communication, internal coordination and day-to-day operational support. She plays an important role in keeping projects structured and well-managed behind the scenes, from procurement and paperwork to communication between team members and project stakeholders. Her work helps ensure that the business side of each project remains efficient, organised and properly coordinated throughout delivery.

    Consultant Project Manager

    Martin brings over 40 years of experience in the construction industry, with a background spanning commercial, residential and infrastructure projects in the UK and internationally. He has held senior roles, including Project Director, Construction Director, and Senior Project Manager, with major contractors such as Arnold Construction Services and Interserve Construction. His experience covers the full project lifecycle, from pre-construction and procurement through to delivery and handover. At DS5 Construction Ltd, Martin supports project planning, technical coordination and delivery strategy, helping ensure projects are structured correctly from the outset, with a strong focus on buildability, programme control and quality.

Office Building RedevelopmentOne of our recent projects involved transforming a seven-storey former school building that had stood vacant for 8 years into a modern office building. DS5 Construction Ltd took full responsibility for this ambitious redevelopment, bringing the property back into use and upgrading it to meet current commercial standards. The result is a collection of contemporary, functional office suites on all seven floors, tailored to accommodate diverse businesses. The project began with strip-out and demolition works, including the removal of outdated partitions and sanitary installations that no longer met current requirements. We then reinstated key services, including the gas supply and electrical systems, while also developing a new internal layout designed around the client’s current and future needs. Our construction team managed every stage of the redevelopment. This included installing new walls, floors, and ceilings, reconstructing the staircase, and installing new balustrades. We also delivered modern washroom facilities, changing areas, office rooms and a fully fitted kitchen, creating a practical and well-organised working environment throughout the building. All works were carried out in line with the project plans, under close project management, and in accordance with current construction and design standards. The programme was carefully controlled to ensure that each stage was completed on schedule. After 12 weeks of intensive work, the building was successfully transformed into a functional and visually coherent office environment, providing a modern setting for business activity and future growth.
